I’ve been having singing lessons with Roger for just over a year. I cannot put into words the massive improvement I’ve made since then. It’s incredible how I went from someone who didn’t really like my voice and the way I sounded, to now feeling comfortable singing and exploring new depths in my voice. Roger has helped me find that voice I’ve had all along, just always hidden under the fear of letting it out. Never would I have thought that I would be singing top C’s a year after starting lessons!

Returning to musical theatre after a break of 10 years has been a great journey with Roger’s guidance. I have completed both my Grade 7 and 8 Musical Theatre exams, gaining distinction marks in both, and am now working on my Advanced Diploma (ALCM). Roger is keen to ensure your technique is secure while challenging you with new and exciting repertoire.

Roger has been teaching me the piano for a little over 2 years and I notice I have improved so much, even within the first few months. I came to him at about grade 3 standard, and I am shortly to sit my grade 8 exam, having passed grade 6 with distinction. He is a wonderful teacher and it feels as though there is always something new to learn! I feel lucky and happy to be able to take grade exams in piano whilst practising such a wide range of other pieces too. I look forward to continuing to improve through my diploma on the piano (DipLCM), and continuing to play for a very long time.

My singing journey began 3 years ago when I was just 9 years old. I had to work really hard to prove to Roger that I was committed and wanted to be the best vocalist I could be. 11 months from my first lesson I passed grade 3 with a distinction following that grades 4 & 5 at distinction. Singing is hard work but I am told I’m good at it! I’ve been on stage at the Ipswich Regent and have sung in front of 500 people. Without Roger’s inspiration and support I could not do that.

I met Roger 2 years ago when I was at grade 2/3 standard on the piano. He taught me  lots of different skills that range from sight reading, to understanding how to learn a piece from start to finish. Roger pushed me to practice very hard and play pieces in detail to sound confident and “concert ready”. By the end of the first year, I managed to successfully pass grade 4 with a great grade all due to the details and high expectations of Roger. This year, he is helping me to achieve a grade 6 and I cannot wait to begin the pieces and scales. Roger is a great teacher who knows his student’s potential and will push them to achieve this. If you are passionate about music and are willing to take your musical understanding to the next level… I definitely recommend Roger!

It has always been a dream of mine to be able to play the piano and so I started piano lessons with Roger in September of 2019, just after turning 23 – a little apprehensive, being an adult learner after all, however, now, around 2 years in, I’m working towards my grade 6 exam! Roger is a great teacher who has pushed me to the limits of my skill at every stage, helping me attain this dream I’ve had for so long. He helped me choose my own piano and develop my love for the instrument – something that will stay with me forever!

I have been having piano lessons with Roger for two years. I was a bit nervous about starting lessons as an adult beginner but Roger has been great in helping me progress. I always look forward to my lessons and the challenge that each one brings in learning something new! Last year I sat and passed my grade 2 exam, and this year I am working towards grade 3.

Singing has always been the weakest area in my performing arts journey which also includes dancing and acting. I needed moreconfidence along with technical guidance. I started taking singing lessons with Roger initially to improve these skills. However, Roger has not only taught me these valuable skills he has also given me a passion for singing. I have achieved things that are beyond what I expected and I am excited about developing my potential further. Last year I passed my grade 5 Music theatre exam with distinction, and I am now working towards my grade 7.

For me, I just want to be the best pianist I can possibly be,  now that I do not have the competing interests of sport and a career which I have when I was a child, wife and a working mother. I returned to the piano after 40 years and started as a post grade 8 student with Roger in 2019, since when he has navigated me through a Diploma of the London College of Music. I am now studying for the Associateship of the College – a huge step up and for me very hard graft. But it is a total joy for me to feel that if there is a work I would like to play, there is nothing stopping me from just going ahead and learning it. As Roger says, there are three stages of serious  performance study: 1. Impossible. 2. Difficult. 3.  Done.

I started my Musical Theatre journey with Roger Seville in 2019 – after never taking a singing lesson before. The lively, friendly atmosphere instantly put me at ease yet encouraged me to practice and push myself to achieve. One year later, I took my first ever Musical Theatre exam (grade 8) and came out with a distinction! I was buzzing!  Now I’m currently working towards a diploma in Musical Theatre which I never anticipated! I would not have got to where I am now without the guidance of Roger. The training he provides is extremely professional and quite frankly: second to none! Every lesson is productive and exciting and a real outlook into the realms of professional Musical Theatre training.
